  Jupiter protects the earth... another example of intellectual dishonesty and an argument against design

  i'm taking a university astronomy course, and i must say it's really fun to read about this field.

  anyway, i remember the jws used to use jupiter (and probably still do) as an example for how unique and special our solar system is (and thus designed) -- namely, that jupiter protects the earth from astroids, comets, and meteors.

  convincing if one doesn't know any better, especially circa 1994 when jupiter stepped in front of a comet for us... but this isn't the full story!

  You have shown many times the depth of your ignorance and have scurried away from numerous debates because of your lack of knowledge or your inability to apply logic.

  why do ones that have faded and been out for years return?

  One reason why many people leave and then go back is because they still believe when they leave.

  Many who were born into the faith leave because they want to live a life without some of the constrictions. Later on, when they have got things out of their system, they return. Fear of Armageddon can be a big factor.

  If you leave while still believing, there is a high chance you will return.

  Scientists have tangible results to show for their efforts, even evolutionary biologists.

  On the other hand, people like you Perry have nothing to show for your non-existent make believe god and your infantile faith.

  Better to know you don't have all the answers than to delude yourself into believing you have.
